Mariachi Band visits Radio Station from Chiapas, Mexico
"Followers of Jesus Band"
We were blessed on November 1st, 2003 as the Mariachi Band,
"Followers of Jesus"
"Segidores De Christo"
from Chiapas Mexico, came and played beautiful music.  As promotion for the concert they were having in the the Capital city of Belmopan, we were more than happy to put them LIVE on the radio to praise the name of Jesus over the radio waves.
Thanks for the delightful visit and blessing.

The week of November 2-9, 2003 a young student social worker from Georgia visited the radio station.  She came to Cayo for a week to work at Eden SDA High School and volunteer her skills at the radio station.  On Monday night, she did an interview LIVE on the radio so that the listeners could get to know her a little bit.  She talked about how she had come to be a social worker, as well as what led her to come down and volunteer her time in Belize.  The program was an hour and a half, and it was a very fun and interactive time.  Interspersed with all the chatting was a lot of good music.  To get the scoop on her personal testimony about her time and experiences here in Belize, check back on Monday, November 10, 2003.
Annette's Personal Story
November 10th 2003
Time flies when you are having fun....and my week here in  Cayo has certainly flown by.  My time was filled with radio experiences and the Eden Seventh Day Adventist high school.  Before coming here, the only thing I knew about radio was how to flip it on and change stations.  This week I had the joy of co-hosting some shows (adult and children), being interviewed, playing the evening praise music, and even presenting two morning shows on "Improving Communication Admist Conflict".  It was amazing to realize that listeners were tuning in from the local area, countrywide, Guatemala, and Mexico.  I can see how God can greatly use a radio station to reach people in their homes, vehicles, or workplace.  The radio can enter a home where maybe others are not able to visit.  I have been very impressed with this Adventist station and can see God blessing and leading it.  Now I am leaving with some knowledge on all that has to occur for a radio station to function.  Let me tell you, I definitely have a new respect for radio!
At Eden high school, I taught social skills lessons for each class.  The topics were on "Making Wise Decisions" and "Handling Peer Pressure".  These topics were presented, students discussed them in groups and as a class, and handouts were given.  The students were extremely receptive to my time with them, being very open to discussing the issues that they are currently facing.  I had the honor of speaking for their chapel service and meeting some of the students on an individual basis.  I pray God will continue blessing Eden and its students, and that each day they can be that much closer to Him.
The hospitality I have experienced here is beyond compare.  I would like to thank Dennis and Stephanie Borland and the rest of the Borland family.  They have kindly taken me in, making provisions and really caring.  It has been a blessing to be with them.  My only regret is my time with them could not be longer.  If you have a desire for a mission experience, I would highly recommend visiting the people here in Cayo.  I have no doubt that you will walk away with a great experience and new friends.
